Show Marriott-Slaterville City History September 2014 funded through 1 cent per $10 of sales tax, will not continue unless the public votes to continue it. The RAMP fund has helped Marriott-Slaterville with $980,000 over the last 10 years and helps pay for things such as hiking trails, bridges, playgrounds and restrooms at parks, just to name a few. A huge boost to the RAMP funds are matching funds from cities as well as time and money that is donated, which in effect more than doubles the RAMP funds. Each city in Weber County receives $5,000 automatically and can apply for more RAMP funds. Each year communities submit project proposals to the RAMP board, which is turn approves or denies funding per project. Amelia Dominguez, 29, of Marriott-Slaterville was charged in September 2013 with two counts of abuse or neglect of a disabled child. Her four children, between the ages of 4 and 12, two of which are disabled, ran away in August 2013 and were reported missing before turning up at their grandparents' home in Washington Terrace. They later told Ogden police that they were afraid of Dominguez. Dominguez was sentenced Tuesday, September 2, 2014 to 45 days of court probation and may soon have her parental custody restored. Every Sunday throughout the month of October the Standard-Examiner is running a special section to honor breast cancer Angels and Survivors. June Perkins Campbell, who succumbed to the disease on September 1, 2013, was honored as an Angel. Dixie Holmes, a Survivor of breast cancer for the past 12 years, also received a loving tribute from family members. The National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA) featured an advertising insert in the Standard Examiner on September 28, 2014. Bart Spencer was pictured as a member of the NAIFA Bonneville Professional Association. |
