Show IMPORTANT PRIMARY INFO Not all Weber County Voters will qualify to vote a ballot during this year's June 24th Primary. For the 2014 Weber County Primary Election, only voters affiliated with the Republican Party will have a ballot to vote. The exception to this are voters residing in Weber County School Board District 3. These voters, regardless of party affiliation, will be eligible to participate in the non-partisan run-off election for the two candidates who will appear on the November ballot. This district primarily includes residents of South Ogden and Uintah. VOTE COUNTS All affiliated Republicans in Weber County will have the opportunity to vote for the two candidates vying for the office of County Recorder/Surveyor. Additionally, Republicans living in District 7 of the Utah House of Representatives, are eligible to vote for one of two Republicans for State Representative. Any voter who is currently unaffiliated with a political party may choose to affiliate with the Republican Party at the polls and participate in that party's primary and receive a Republican ballot. This option is often called Absentee Voting and is a convenient alternative to voting in person. The easiest way to request this is to log on to the Weber County Election website and download an Absentee Ballot Application. Voters may also visit the State of Utah's election page or contact the County Election office directly for more information. Just remember that the form must be submitted no later than Thursday, June 19th for the Primary Election. Voting by Mail has become a popular movement across the country. Utah's own Davis County has decided to conduct all 2014 elections entirely by mail. Some states, such as Washington and Oregon, conduct all their elections by mail. 1 |
