She has worked with my son, Colter, through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and now 4th grade. Mrs. Pearson is an amazing teacher who has helped Colter in so many ways that I hope I am able to express everything she has done on paper. From the very beginning of our association with Mrs. Pearson, I knew that she loved her student and put every effort into helping them improve. All of the other kids would make fun of me. She worked a lot with me to bring up my score. It was very hard, I would give up and quit, but she wouldn't let me go have free time until I read for ten minutes. I thought it was stupid for me to read while everyone else was having fun, I would cry about reading, but I learned to live with it. By the half of the school year, she had me at a 2nd grade reading level, but she would still make me read before I had any free time. When my class had the end of the year test, my read ing level was at a fifth grade level. She has influenced and even today I am in 5th grade and now my reading level is at a 12th grade level. I owe it all to Mrs. Furlong, the greatest teacher ever. I would like to thank her, but she moved to a different school I now love reading so much!!
