Show October 25, 2014 Local authors sign books today OGDEN — Eight local authors will be signing copies of their books at the First United Methodist Church Fall Craft Bazaar. The participating authors are Annie Adams, Doree Anderson, Kristin Holt, Kelli Ann Morgan, Joy Spraycar, L.L. Muir, Jodee Steffensen and Irish Winters. The bazaar started Friday and continues 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at 1339 W. 400 North in Marriott- Slaterville. The writers who will be at the bazaar are members of Utah's Heart of the West Chapter of Romance Writers of America. "We eight present a wide variety of romantic fiction," said author Kristin Holt, of South Weber, in a news release about the event. The authors will have books for sale at the bazaar. Fans are also welcome to bring their own copies to be signed. In addition, shoppers at the bazaar will find food, jewelry, quilts, paintings, crafts and gifts. Santa will be on hand to take pictures with children. The cost is $15. The guest speaker will be Ryan Wilcox, who serves as Northern Utah director for Sen. Mike Lee. Wilcox was elected to the Utah House in 2008 and represented the Ogden, North Ogden, Harrisville and Pleasant View areas until his resignation earlier this year to join Lee. Two injured in head-on crash MARRIOTT- SLATERVILLE —Two people were hospitalized after a head-on collision on a winding, slippery road Tuesday evening. The accident occurred around 6 p.m. on Pioneer Road at the s-turn near 3650 West. The two drivers were the only ones injured in the wreck and were transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries was unknown. Police on scene said the accident is under investigation, but that the wet road caused by recent rain showers could be a possible factor. Pioneer Road was closed for about an hour as the accident was cleaned up. — Standard-Examiner staff |
