Show Marriott-Slaterville History April 2014 Paolo Nativida of South Ogden was treated for injuries suffered in an accident near the Internal Revenue Service building at 800 W 12th St on April 18, 2014 after another driver made an overly wide right-hand turn. Nativida had to be extricated from the truck and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Brent Butler. Marriott-Slaterville resident Blaine Draper was nominated for the 2014 Apple for the Teacher Award. Draper has taught school at South Weber Elementary for 30 years and currently teaches the sixth grade. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen spoke at a news conference Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the IRS Main Building after holding a town hall for Ogden employees about how the IRS is functioning with a smaller budget and how this will affect taxpayers. The Fremont High School girl's basketball team was one of four high school girls basketball teams around the country to be selected to participate in the Dick's Sporting Goods High School National Tournament in New York City. Fremont, the tournament's No. 3 seed, faced No. 2 seed Miami Senior High School from Florida on Friday, April 4 at 10:30 am MDT. The winner of the contest went on to advance to the championship J.L. game at Madison Square Garden on April 5 . Marriott-Slaterville resident Kealani Sagapolu is a player on the Fremont team. Fremont advanced with a 43-33 victory over Miami and went on to face Riverdale Baptist, the tournament's top seed on Saturday, April 5th. Unfortunately, they fell to the national powerhouse as Riverdale Baptist eased past Fremont 60-35 and won the championship. |
