After the driver refused to stop, Utah Highway Patrol troopers picked up the chase and dispatched helicopter support to fol low the suspect vehicle, which at that point was going in excess of 100 mph northbound on Interstate 15, endangering other vehicles, said UHP Lt. Chris Simmons. Troopers attempted to spike the vehicle's tires as it passed Farmington and Layton.
