Show •i. Doris Ellen Nicholls Tubbs August 2, 1929 ~ December 26, 2014 "Together Again " Doris Tubbs passed away on December 26, 2014 in Marriott Slaterville City. She was born on August 2,1929 to Chester Orval and Mary Ellen Ellis Nicholls. Doris married the love of her life, Durlin Tubbs on May 25, 1950 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had five children. Doris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she was a great visiting teacher and ward librarian, she also volunteered at the Family History Center in Ogden. Doris enjoyed crocheting, doing word puzzles and visiting with family and friends. She loved her family very much. Doris is survived by her sons, Robert Michael Tubbs, Wayne Allen Tubbs and Brent Jay Tubbs; daughter, Doreen (Don) Bell; and 14 grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Durlin Tubbs; daughter, Mary Ellen (Don) Brooks; parents; and brother, Jim Nicholls. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washing- Ion Blvd. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. , Interment will be at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Send condolences to the family at: * www.lindquistmortuary.com Happy 80th Birthday! Shirley Joan Perry Smout Shirley Joan Perry Smout celebrated her 80th birthday with family on November 15, 2014 at Mad- dox restaurant. She was born November 15, 1934 in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah and has resided there as a fifth generation resident throughout her life, with the exception of a few years in Ogden and Provo. Shirley graduated with an associate's degree from WSU with high honors in 1954, and with her bachelor's degree from BYU also with high honors in 1956. She taught English and French at Weber High School until 1964 then worked at the Internal Revenue Service until she retired in 1994. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served faithfully in a number of church callings including Relief Society President. Shirley married Ronald Robson Smout on November 1, 1957 and they raised four children. Susan (David) Bodily, Jayna Smout, Rob (Kris) Smout and Regina (Marty) Carver. She has two grandsons, Nicholas and Sam, and two granddaughters, Katie and Megan. Shirley's hobbies include caring for her pets, solving puzzles, watching BYU football and basketball games, and maintaining her yard. Happy 85th Birthday! Keith W. Slater November 2, 1929 was a spectacular day. That was the day that Keith was born. He was the first child born to Raymond and Nevada Slater. Keith was raised in Marriott, Utah with his sister Gwen, and his brothers Myrl, Doyle and John. ^g|i 41111111111 He was a^ways a hard dfkW J&L ^PSflfllp worker, working on a dairy fSHt jffl^£%¥M$ farm, walking five miles to WiSi Mf.^?$&it4 school each day in the deep "• mmm *"^^^^*™ snow uphill both ways. He graduated from Weber High School in 1947. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He married Marilynne D. Henrie on October 5, 1956. They resided in Slaterville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS temple. They were married for 53 years. Together they raised two almost perfect children Brad W. Slater (Pam) and Susan D. Frandsen (Tori) who absolutely love and adore him. He is an awesome Dad. He was an excellent husband and care giver to his wife until she passed away in January 2010. He worked at the Defense Depot Ogden where he retired in 1989 with 43 years of service. Upon his retirement from D.D.O he went to work part-time for Mulligan Golf and Games, where he continues to work. He is an active member of the LDS Marriott-Slaterville, 2nd Ward where he served as the ward finance clerk for over 32 years for seven Bishops. He is the best grandfather to five of the smartest, luckiest grandchildren and their spouses and fiancA ever. Randee, (Kasey) Scott; Kyley, (Jessica) Slater; Kevin (fiancA, Brandie); Stacee (Justin) Jolley and Kellie (Skyler) Boelter. At this time he is the greatest-great-grandfather to four very lucky, beautiful, great-grandkids, Rylee and Jayk Jolley and Phoenix and Parker Scott. In honor of Keith's 85th Birthday, family and a few close friends enjoyed a celebration lunch at the Marriott-Slaterville City Offices. Happy Birthday! We love you! |
