Show Office Opened for United Campaign of Red Cross And Community Chest 12/16/41 Fund Gathering Efforts Will Be Combined In Single Drive Headquarters for the united campaign of the Ogden Community Chest and the American Red Cross war fund were being established in rooms 403 and 404 of the Hotel Ben Lomond today. Furniture and telephones were installed and the office will be opened immediately. Although the actual campaign is scheduled for two weeks, from January 12 to 24, Willard L. Eccles, chest president, said special solicitation will begin early next week. Work will begin immediately to organize committees for solicitation within the various business houses and manufacturing plants as well as throughout Weber county. Dates for the annual Community Chest appeal have been advanced several weeks in order to unite it with the special nationwide campaign for Red Cross war funds. This eliminates the necessity of a separate fund raising campaign and conserves the time of volunteer workers and subscribers. “We are not only seeking to raise funds needed for our regular chest agencies, but also to obtain Ogden’s and Weber county’s quota of the fifty million dollar appeal of the American Red Cross for war relief,” Said President Eccles in a statement today. Mr. Eccles DECEMBER 31, 1941 They Organize State Red Cross Committee ADVISORS… F.A. Harris, Allen E. Kolb, E. G. Bennett, T. E. Jones and Paul L. Harvey met today to institute a state advisory Red Cross committee.-(Standard-News photo.) |
