The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show MEMORANDUM ON FINDINGS The following is a list of possible sources of supply on findings for the War Relief Production Program. WE suggest that you will find on eof the best sources of supply to be the mail order houses since they retain a good sized stock on all of the barious items in which Red Cross is interested. We refer to Butler Brothers, Sears, Reebuck an dCompany, and Montgomery War and Company, and suggest contracting the nearest brach office of any one of these. In addition to the above, the following sources are suggest: 1. New York Safety Pin Company 327 west 38th street New York City (Safety pins only ) 2. Columbia Notion Company 141 West 40th Street New York City The above carries a good stock of all of the items that might be needed. 3. Ross Products 24 West 23rd Street New York City The above carries a limited supply of the findings but has substantial quantities of both needles and thread. Red Cross 1940-42_198g 2 No. 109 Woman’s Dress No. 110 Reduce width of homs to 2” No. 111 No.110 Woman’s Dress (wool only) No. 111 Reduce width of lower edge as follows: Size 14 16 18 20 40 42 44 46 48 50 Reduce to: 70 ½ 72 72 74 76 78 80 82 84 86 inches This can be done by taking some of the flare out of skirt at seams. No. 105 Boy’s Shorts (Wool only) Eliminate belt of self material. A belt made of double thickness of heavy cotton material can be substituted. PATTERNS AVAILABLE THROUGH YOUR LOCAL STORES Listed below are commercial patterns recommended for garments for which there is no A.R.C pattern available, and suggestions in regard thereto. Please note that those patterns are available in your local stores: Bed Jackets, Children’s (Convalescent Robe Patterns). As there are no suitable commercial patterns for children’s bed jackets, we suggest using any of the following bathrobe patterns and cutting them off at the waist. The ones that button at the neck would be the most practical. |
