The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show ARC 400-7 Sept. 1939 Code H 4 CONVALESCENT ROBE Materials Findings Outing flannel or bathrobing Three (3) buttons, No. 60 thread, Red Cross Label. Instructions for Making Hems Down the front and around the bottom 1 ½ inch hem finished on the inside. Sleeve hem 1 inch finished on the inside. Pocket hem 1 inch finished on the outside. Pockets One on each side of front about 3 ½ inches from underarm seam and about 13 inches below the armhole. Sew on with two rows of stitching. Seams All flat fell seams on the outside of garment. Sleeves Fell on outside with body over the sleeve. The seam of sleeves should e about 7 inches in front of underarm seam. Collar Make collar and sew on 1 inch from the edge of front. Belt Make double and stitch all around. Stitch the center of belt for 4 inches in length to the center of the back 18 inches down from the neck. Place belt straps on both underarm seams 7 inches below the armholes. Button-holes Three (3) buttonholes on the left side about 11 inches apart. Upper button to be ½ inch below the collar and all buttonholes starting ½ inch from the front edge. Button Use buttons about 7/8 inch in diameter, and place so that when garment is buttoned the front hems full lap. Pattern No patter available from headquarters. Use any standard pattern similar to illustration. (Over) |
