The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show PURPOSE AND PROGRAM OF THE GIRL SCOUT ORGANIZATION “1. The purpose of this organization is to help girls to realize the ideals of womanhood, as a preparation for their responsibilities in the home and service to the community… “2. The program of the Girl Scout movement shall be planned on broad educational lines, giving girls an experience and love of the out-of-door life, and a practical knowledge of health, homemaking, and the arts and crafts. The activities shall aim through comradeship to develop initiative, self-control, self-reliance, and unselfish service to others. “3. The Girl Scout movement is open to girls of all religious faiths. The moral and spiritual standards of the Girl Scout movement are those expressed in the Promise and Laws. Girl Scouting teaches that every Girl Scot shall strive to be a good member of her own religious organization. “The Girl Scout movement is non-political and non-profit making.
