The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show 3 If your chapter has made shipments direct to Camps or Naval Stations on its own initiative without receiving shipping instructions from Headquarters, we would appreciate it if you would send us a memorandum of the quantity and color of each article, where shipped, and the approximate date of shipment so that our records of production and distribution may be complete. SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOREIGN WAR RELIEF GARMENTS AND SURGICAL DRESSINGS: Unless otherwise instructed, garments and surgical dressings should be shipped by the cheapest way, collect to: American Red Cross Depot Interstate Terminal Warehouse Co. 118-24th St., Ogden, Utah Packing list, Form 1639, should be used. ECONOMY IN THE USE OF BUTTONS, SNAPS, HOOKS AND EYES, ETC.: Since findings for garments are becoming scarce and more difficult to purchase in large quantities, we have checked the American Red Cross patterns and have listed on the attached sheet a number of suggestions which will be of interest to your production workers. PIECE TIMETABLE: The Piece Timetable has been revised to include the hours of credit established for garments being made for the U.S. Armed Forces and at present is in process of being printed. Listed below are the new knitted items with the hours of cred allowed for each: Cap-Muffler 18 Cap, Watch 18 Gloves 15 Helmet 15 Rifle Mitts 15 Scarf, Navy 30 Stockings, Sea Boot 30 Sweater, sleeveless 22 (revised sincelarger sizes are being made) Sweater, Turtle-neck 32 Wristlets 6 SPECIAL NOTES ON KNITTING: The Navy Department has requested that their official specifications be used in making the garments listed below. These are given in the ARC leaflets indicated: ARC 400-3D Navy Turtle- Neck Sweater ARC 400-A Scarf ARC 400-9D Watch Cap ARC 400-22A Helmet ARC 400-24 Gloves |
