The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show America Red Cross WEBER COUNTY CHAPTER OGDEN, UTAH COPY April 20, 1942 PCS 578 V 42 TO: Chapter Chairman FROM: Manager SUBJECT: Civilian War Relief Production During the months of April, May, and June, we are to have a limited supply of sewing material from the Government. This will include material for the following items: Bedshirts Women’s Cotton Dresses Boy’s Shirts Snow Suits Rompers Children’s Bedjackets Women’s Blouses Girl’s Blouses Would you like to have some of this material? If so, advise us at once and we will give you a quota and order the material for it for your chapter. Since the supply is limited, it will be necessary for us to make your quota according to the supply available. We would appreciate hearing from you by return mail. A.L. Schafer, Manager |
