The dance will be highlighted by “air raids” and “blackouts.” All receipts from the dance will be donated to the American Red Cross. “The public is invited,” said President Carver 'Blackout' To Get Funds For Red Cross "Blackouts" and "air raids" will keep Weber college in an uproar Friday as members of the freshman class whip into action with their "Frosh Blitz." The "blitzkrieg" will gain mo¬mentum during the freshman as¬sembly Friday morning and will carry through the freshman class dance in the college ballroom at night. Receipts from the dance will go to the Red Cross. It is the first of such events staged as usual but with the Red Cross to be the beneficiary. Mrs. C. T. Greenwell, executive secretary of the local Red Cross chapter, said she hopes other organiza¬tions will take the same ac¬tion. "If you are really interested in seeing what a total blackout looks like (if it has any looks), be sure to attend the Frosh Blitz," said one of the class of¬ficers. Student committees for the dance are: Cordelia Niland, Lu- Jean Hinchcliff, Ray Sanders, and Carl White, assembly; Mil¬dred McPhie and J. M. Heslop, publicity; Beth Rees, Carl White and David Meyers, decorations. |
