Show Warren Proves Generous in Roll Call-War Relief Drive CONGRATULATIONS . . . COUNTY SPEEDS FUND CAMPAIGN Activity Also Increases In Ogden City Part Of Welfare Drive Encouraging reports of results in the Red Cross roll call and war relief fund campaign in Weber county, outside Ogden, are being received, L. Wesley Robbins, chair¬man, said today. Contributions in Warren district, Frank East, chairman, to date av¬erage $4.37 per family, and the to¬tal reported so far is $262.23, Mr. Robbins said. "This average ap¬proaches the quota of $5.00 per family set for county residents and we are hopeful that the full quota can be realized in every district." Workers Listed Chairman East's workers include Ralph Gibson, Arnold Wayment, Amos East, Verl Barnard, Vernal Wayment, Alvin East, Glen Folk- man, Joseph Wayment, Ezra Way¬ment. Partial returns also were re¬ported by J. Lawrence Slater, chairman of Marriott district. To date $164.75 has been collected by the following workers in that dis¬trict: Mrs. J. Lawrence Slater, D. F. Hudson, Sarah Parry, Archibold Stanger, Charlotte Blair, George Elmer, Alta Pierce. Ward Fisher, chairman of Farr West district, reported the follow¬ing as workers in his field, J. D. Brown, Mrs. Lila Garlick, Alma Wayment, Allen Taylor, Don Bar For Result Reports Intensive efforts will be made throughout this week among busi¬ness firms and public office groups of the city to have all subscriptions to the Red Cross war relief-com¬munity chest united fund ready for reports next Monday. Fred A. Kuhlmann, co-chairman of the united campaign, said all necessary supplies are being delivered to those units today. He impressed upon group chairman and work¬ers the importance of convincing all subscribers that this year they should give at least 60 per cent more than they did last year. All workers in the transportation group, T. J. Foley, co-chairman, are expected to attend a meeting this evening at seven-thirty o'clock in room 403, Hotel Ben Lomond. |
