The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

Show TO THE MAYOR AND COMMISSIONERS OF OGDEN CITY. Dear Gentlemen: The Weber County Chapter of the American Red Cross operates the production sewing room at 416-24th Street in Ogden City. At these sewing rooms, by voluntary services, the women of Ogden make such Red Cross items as dresses, shirts, layettes and we distribute form said headquarters yarn to be knit into sweaters, sox and other wearing apparel. All of the services donated in making these articles are voluntary services. The women put in many long hours at these sewing rooms and at the end of the day they are tired and like the convenience of having their cars parked near the rooms. We are petitioning your Honorable Body for some sort of practical arrangement by which the women can use the parking spaces and not be charged with parking violations. Your consideration of this petition will be aprpreciated. Your truly, CHAIRMAN |
