The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials. |

SMALL MEDIUM LARGE Cast on stitches 96 104 112 stitches (1st needle…. 32 34 36 “ Divide Stitches: (2nd” 32 34 36” (3rd “ 32 36 40 “ Knit 2, purl 2 for three inches Knit plain for 9 10 12 inches (1st needle 48 52 56 stitches Divide stitches: (2nd “ 24 26 28 “ Using 1st needle knit across and purl back 3 ½ 4 4 ½ inches Knit across 15 16 18 stitches Cast off loosely at neck 18 20 20” Knit 15 16 18” First Shoulder Knit and purl back and forth for ¾ 1 1 ½ inches Which leaves wool at inner edge. Break off wool and tie on at neck opening for SECOND SHOULDER Purl 15 16 18 stitches Knit 15 16 18” Continue to knit and purl back and forth in this way for ¾ 1 1 ½ inches Which leaves the wool at outer edge. Break off wool and fasten at end of 2nd and 3rd needle Continue here as has already been done for the back of sweater, only this time knit for each shoulder… 1 ½ 2 3 inches Join each shoulder together by weaving the stitches, as in the Kitcheoner toe of a sock. SLEEVES Count the stitches at arm-hole, and cast on 3 needles as near the same number as will be divisible by 4 Knit 2, purl 2, for 2 inches. Knit plain for. 10 ½ 12 14 inches Bind off loosely and weave into arm-hole of the sweater Repeat for second sleeve NECK To finish off the neck, pick up the stitches on 3 Needles and knit 2, purl 2, for one inch.
