A Public Hearing was held on a Zoning Map Amendment at 1582 S 1200 W from A-l (Agricultural) to C- 2P by Derrick Oman. No comments were offered so after the Commission returned to a Public Meeting and discussed the issue further; the re-zoning was unanimously approved with several stipulations. The Planning Commission changed the interpretation of the Use Regulation for Section 13.10.050 relating to "Electronic equipment sales and service" and related electric uses as to whether such uses extend to an electrical contractor. The change would allow electrical companies who perform contracted electrical services, but are not involved in retails sales or service to operate in our city. The change was approved by the Commission. Mark Peterson, owner of Jeremiah's Restaurant presented a proposal for a hotel and restaurant addition at High County Inn, along with plans to build an Assisted Living Facility in the rear. The Commission approved the expansions and Assisted Living Facility, with several requirements to be met. Commission and Staff follow-up: Trent Meyerhoffer was excused from the meeting because he was attending a Public Works training in St. George. Mr. Morris said a certified letter was sent to Fugal this week informing them of a zoning violation. Mr. Morris reported that there is a possibility for a large commercial development to be built near Pilot. The issue of Corey Combe hauling dirt on to his property was discussed again. When asked if any work has begun at Morris Meadows or the administration building at Venture Academy, Mr. Morris said no work has started at this time. The City is currently waiting for approval of a CDBG grant so they can acquire the John Hansen property. |
