Items can and will change. $500.00 REWARD TO END VANDALISM For information leading to the successful arrest and conviction of any person responsible or others involved with vandalizing road signs on Pioneer Road. Contact Deputy Babinsky at 801-452-0418. Informants will be kept confidential to the extent provided by law. Local Updates • Emergency Drill. Pioneer Elementary will hold an emergency lock down and evacuation drill on the morning of April 8, 2015. Roads will be blocked and closed, law enforcement will be securing the area, please plan ahead. • Tree Memorials Stolen. Someone has stolen the tree marker plaques that the City made for the residents and families that donated a tree at the City Hall Park. If you or a family member donated a tree, please contact Marilyn or Becky at 801- 627-1919 to help us recreate new tree marker plaques. Free Medicare Counseling. One-on-one personal counseling is available through Weber Human Services. Help with questions on Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage, Medicare Advantage Plans, initial Medicare Enrollment, Low Income Subsidies for medications along with help with medical billing problems and mix-ups that haven't been resolved. Authorized Medicare counselors will help at no cost. • Senior Citizen Fraud Help. If you think you have been the victim of any Medicare Fraud or Abuse, program counselors are available to help. For questions, or an appointment, call Weber Human Services Department of Ageing 801-625- 3730. Summer Tennis Summer Tennis lessons begin June 8 at the Harrisville Tennis Courts. On-site registration for Marriott-Slaterville residents is April 28 and 29 from 5-8 PM at the Harrisville Tennis Courts. Open registration is May 5-6 from 5-8 PM at the Harrisville Tennis Courts. Cost is as low as $25 for 6 lessons. Rackets and balls are provided at no additional cost. Weber Fire District no longer issues bum permits. Burn permits are to be obtained from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality. Here is the link to the website: http://www.airQuaiitv.utah.eov/Compliance/OpenBuniing/index. htm. Yard burning requires a valid bum permit issued during the open bum window when the National Weather Service clearing index is 500 or greater. The burning of trash, rubbish, tires, hazardous material, or oil products is not allowed. Certain agriculture burning of ditches and fence lines may be allowed at other times. The spring burn permit window is March 30 to May 30. The fall bum permit period is September 15 to October 30, if approved by the state forester. You cannot obtain a burn permit from the state until the bum window begins. For questions, call the Utah Division of Air Quality at 801-536-4000 for more information. |
