Show C. Val Currie February 27, 1944-July 11, 2015 MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE - Clenner Val Currie, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family after complications from a stroke. He was born February 27, 1944 in Ogden, Utah, to Lou Robert and Sarah Mildred Currie. He was the youngest of three children. Val married his sweetheart, Linda Joan Vlaan- deren, on October 14,1965 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Together, they are loving parents to eight children, 22 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Val loved the Lord, and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served in numerous capacities, including Bishop and Stake President. Val and Linda served LDS missions to Apia, Samoa, the Conference Center at Temple Square, and the Harrisville Project Gardens. He loved music, working in his gardens, and traveling. He was a volunteer at the Ogden Parkway for over 15 years. He was known for giving the worlds greatest hugs. Val is survived by his wife, Linda, and their children: Shawn Currie, Michelle Post (Erik), Heather Harper (David), Natalie Post (Jeff), Heidi Currie, Kristin Hoopes (Jacob), Ashlee Clayton (Jeff); and his sister, Patricia Fowers. Val was preceded in death by his parents, brother; and son, Jason. Funeral services will he held Wednesday, July 15,2015,10 a.m., at the Marriott-Slaterville Church building, 250 North 1500 West, MSC, UT. There will be a viewing Tuesday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the same location. Internment, Washington Heights Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Missionary Fund for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.myers-mortuary.com Larry J Leishman Decembers, 1935 ~ December 15, 2015 Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Larry J Leishman, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2015. He was born on December 8,1935 in Wellsville, Utah to Fred S: and Genevive Jensen Leishman. Larry married his sweetheart, LaRaine Purser on October 17,1960. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Larry attended Ben Lomond High School and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, LaRaine; I daughters, Lori Stickler (Shane Johnson) and Lannette (Bob) Leishman; nine grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marsha; brother, Doyle; daughter, Lindy and son, Lane. Special thanks to Harmony Home Health and Hospice for their love and care. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 19,2015 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 18,2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. and prior to services from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
