Show Marriott-Slaterville City History December 2105 Mayor Butler announced that he has reappointed Kent Meyerhoffer, Mike Hunsakerand Carl Parker to serve on the Planning Commission. Each of their terms is set to expire at the end of 2015. Kim Slater will also remain on the Mosquito Abatement Board. Lynn Wood, Independent Auditor from Wood-Richards & Associates addressed the Financial Statements and Audit Report for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2015. He reported that all of the departments are within budget. City Council unanimously approved the Audit Report. The 2016 Meeting Schedule for Planning Commission and City Council was approved. Mr. Morris discussed Resolution 2015-P adopting the Budget for the Community Development and Renewal Agency. He indicated that the purpose of the document is to give background and a thorough explanation for the MSCDA Budget. A written explanation of the Budget is not required by state code, but helps to clarify the distribution of funds to the taxing entities and Agency, and will be provided to the State Auditor. Council approved adoption of this Budget. Council adopted an Ordinance designating the City Council as the Arts and Culture Council for the City. The City wishes to designate the City Council as the Arts and Culture Council for the purpose of obtaining arts and related funding from RAMP, and conform to the rules and regulations for said RAMP funding. The presentation of the Annual Awards for 2015 occurred and was presented as follows: > Good Neighbor Award Dorothy Slater Sam Lower from Plain City Ned Allred > Elna Lucas Community Culture/History Award Virgil and Kay Howe > H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership Award Syvanna Simmons Whitley Surrage > Darrell Mecham Outstanding Barry & Lisa Panter Community Service Award DeAnn Hufstetler After City Council Meeting was adjourned, the annual Christmas Party for volunteers convened in the adjoining Senior Center. Bits and Pieces Larry J Leishman, 80, passed away on December 15, 2015. Lee Mitchell, 61, passed away on December 17, 2015. |
