Show Temperatures dipped below title normal of 27 degrees to 22 degrees Monday morning, she said. Forecasters do not see the above normal temperatures returning to-the Wasatch Front any time soon, with another storm expected to arrive in time for the weekend, Traphagan said. High temperatures are expected to reach the mid 40s, with the low temperatures sliding down into the 20s. Dave Eskelsen, spokesman with Rocky Mountain Power, said there were several power outages in Davis and Weber counties from Saturday night to Monday morning. Most lasted only a short time. The power outages were caused by broken connections which were caused by a "combination of the wind and cold, but they were dealt with quick fixes," Eskelsen said. Centerville Assistant Police Chief Paul Child said a light pole by Centerville Junior High School was blown over early Sunday morning and a traffic light at 400 East and Pages Lane was damaged due to the wind. Most areas had wind gusts between 40 mph and 50 mph. There were reports of damage to trees and outdoor decorations in Box Elder. Davis and Weber counties. |
