Show Marriott-Slaterville City History February 2015 Jason and Victoria Haas were recognized by Caldwell Banker Residential Brokerage for earning a place in their International President's Circle for 2014. Their skill, hard work and commitment to excellence in real estate service have propelled them to the top of the industry. A chain-reaction accident involving several vehicles near the 12th Street exit on Interstate 15 in Marriott -Slaterville occurred on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Motorists were driving on a dry interstate when a "microburst storm" hit the area and they were suddenly driving on an icy road, causing one car to lose control, which started the 11 vehicle chain-reaction. Several cars were severely damaged and all three northbound lanes were closed while crews investigated the accident. High winds that blew through the Top of Utah the weekend of February 21st caused a few power outages and minor damage. However, the winds Sunday night, February 22nd, blew down a billboard at the Pilot Travel Station at 1670 W 12th St in Marriott-Slaterville. A picture in the Standard Examiner showed the billboard hanging off its base near 1-15 and 1200 S. Most areas had wind gusts between 40 mph and 50 mph. There were also reports of damage to trees and outdoor decorations in Box Elder, Davis and Weber counties. |
