Show Marriott-Slaterville City History September 2015 Commission members were informed that 1200 W will be widened in the future if the application for STP funds is approved. If so, Ogden City has agreed to donate the property and provide a 6% match. Sod was laid on the new front lawn at the Marriott Park on 1200 W. Commissioner Pitcher asked if money is available to construct bike lanes within the City and Mr. Morris said the plan is to build them using STP (State Transportation Program) monies. It was announced that a traffic light will be installed at the 1-15 northbound ramp on 400 N. Mr. Morris was asked about progress on the Assisted Living Center to be built by Jeremiah's restaurant and he responded that they are still working on the financing aspect. The county recently mowed weeds on the roadsides in the City, but Vice-Chair Meyerhoffer feels they do it so quickly that they miss some of them. Mr, Morris said they will try to burn the ones they can next spring. It was mentioned that traffic on 400 N is very congested at this time due to the construction taking place at 400 N and 1200 W. Mr. Morris said the City submitted a Letter of Intent requesting that the County build their new library east of City Hall on property owned by Frank Blair, He said the City is working with Mr. Blair to obtain this property. Vice-Chair Meyerhoffer said as he was driving past the Slaterville Park he noticed that people were parked on both sides of the road, as well as on Regina Carver's property for soccer events. Soccer has become a real problem at that park this year and as a result, this will be the last year we will allow soccer to be played there. New playground equipment will be installed at the Slaterville Park this fall. City Council Meeting-September 17. 2015 Business licenses were approved for Sierra RV Sales and Service, and Willard Peak Farmers Market. Due to the fact that there was no opposition against the current Council seats, Resolution 2015-M was approved cancelling the 2015 municipal election for Marriott-Slaterville City. The City Council adopted Ordinance 2015-05 land use amendment for waterway setback in commercial, flood plain identification, and zoning map at 517 N 2000 W from A-l to C2-P. This Ordinance clarifies a setback relating to waterways, severability, and providing an effective date. It allows a 50' setback in commercial zones where a trail is provided by the developer, except along the Weber River in accordance with the applicable trail plan. A developer has submitted a commercial site plan at this location, which consists of approximately 1.4 acres located directly north of Maverik. However, there is a conflict regarding the setback from Four Mile Creek. Municipal code Section 13.24.025 requires a 100' setback from the Creek, while Section 12.02.070 requires a 75' setback. Because of this conflict, Mr. Morris drafted this Ordinance to clarify the setback. The Ordinance was passed unanimously. Council members discussed the proposed curbside solid waste recycling program. Responses received from the public have been favorable and a tour of the recycling facility will be scheduled for anyone |
