Show This included Louella (Birdie) Horace, Lila and Florence. Georgia was baptized in 1912 and Kenneth in 1915. Sometime about 1917 Lila served as presid¬ent of the Mountain Green Ward YWMIA. In 1919 tragedy struck when Lila was killed by a gunshot wound on 24 July. Then 10 months later Nettie died, leaving George to raise the three youngest children. Louella had married in 1911 and Horace soon after. By 1925 the remaining three children had married and moved. In December of 1927 George married the widow of his half brother, Charles Edward France. The marriage provided a home for George and a father figure for Emma Ellen's small children. The family moved to the old Joseph David France home in Centerville and the Mountain Green ranch was sold. In 1929 the large red brick home in Centerville burned and the family moved to a temporary home until a new one could be built. In 1941 George and Emme sold out in Centerville and bought a home in Salt Lake City. George died in 1946 and was buried in Centerville. He was 86 years old at the time. Buried beside their mother in the Mountain Green Cemetery are Florence, Lila and Georgia. The little log cabin stands empty now, but for years it was known as 'Honey¬moon Cottage' because of the many newlywed couples who began housekeeping within its humble walls. It is now owned by Elwood Williams.
