Show The Owens Family in Rosehill Cottage 1912 THE OWENS FAMILY AT ROSEHILL COTTAGE Front:L. Between 1876 and 1947 a number of families lived at the Rosehill Cottage, built by Joshua Williams. Among them was the family of John Frederick and Jane Parsons Owens and their ten children. John Frederick Owens was born 14 April 1867, in Willard, Box Elder County, a son of Owen Owens of North Wales, and Jane Parsons Owens, born in Nauvoo, Ill. In April, 1859, Owen and Jane had come to Willard with her parents. Owen bought an eight acre piece of land and built a log cabin. The young couple lived on a farm all their lives. Their son, John Frederick, met and married Emma Barker on July 1, 1891. Emma was one of 12 children born to Byron and Julia Cynthia Hubbard Barker. Byron was born in Watertown, New York. Julia Cynthia Hubbard Barker's place of birth was Council Bluffs, Iowa. John and Emma had ten children: Leon Earl, Lucy E., William Parsons, Lois Jane, Phyllis Julia, Lavern, John Lloyd, Eugene Desmond, Glen Byron and Edna May. After the birth of their first child the three moved to Fielding where they lived until about 1910. They were living in Ogden when Edna May was born. John and Errma moved their family a number of places and one of those moves was to Mountain Green. According to Morgan County records John purchased 160 acres of farm land there in September of 1912.
