Show PAINTING OF THE OLD HOME 'UP ON THE HILL' David M (Dee) and Muriel R. Shupe 1928 DAVID M. SHUPE MURIEL R. SHUPE David M. and Muriel Robinson Shupe lived in Mountain Green a short 18 months and loved every minute of it. It was 'home' to Muriel and Dee who fit right in, immediately becoming involved in the affairs of the little Mountain Green Ward. David Mathews Shupe was born, 5 February 1905, in North Ogden, a son of David C. and Sophia Mathews Shupe. He attended North Ogden Elementary Schoo, Weber High School, and one year at the old Weber Academy. He married Muriel Leone Robinson, 4 November 1925, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and left immediately for a two year mission to Virginia, returning in November of 1927. The young couple lived in Ogden until Spring, then moved to Mountain Green where they lived in the old house 'up on the hill'. Dee was employed by the Mount¬ain Fuel Company, helping to install the natural gas line through Weber Canyon. Dee and Muriel moved back to Ogden and he worked for the Utah Woolen Mills for a short time, then was employed as custodian at Weber High School. The follow¬ing year he became Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for the Weber County School District, a position he held for 37 years. After living in Ogden about 18 months Dee and Muriel moved to North Ogden where they built a home. Dee served as a counselor to three Bishops, serving more than 15 years in this capacity.
