Show Walter and Enid Fernelius 1912 When young Walter Moroni Fernelius left home to seek his fortune, he not only found a job and a place to live, he also found a wife. Walter M. Fernelius was born in South Weber, 22 March, 1889, a son of Charles Adolph and Marie Lindberg Fernelius, converts to the L.D.S. Church from Minnesota. As a youth Walter attended school in South Weber and was a student for two years at the Weber Academy. When he decided to get out on his own, he hitched his horse and struck out for Weber Can-yon. He was hired to work for Steuben Rollins of Mountain Green and it was here that he met his future wife, Enid W. Rollins. Ednid Whitaker Rollins was born in Centerville, 8 December, 1897, a daughter of Steuben and Susan Whitaker Rollins. The young couple were married 10 January 1912, in the Salt Lake Temple and moved in with her parents. The two made a musical team with Walter singing and Enid accompanying him on the piano. Two children, Donald and Grant, were born to the couple in Mountain Green. By 1918 they were living in Echo where two more children, Nordis and Walter Glen were born. For many years the family lived in Rock River, Wyoming, a little railroad stop near Larmie, where Walter worked for the ra¬ilroad. They next moved to Evanston, from there to Morgan and eventually to Ogden. He was a railroad man all his life. In remembering the past Enid said that Walter first courted her sister, Louise, then began courting her. She also remembered that he worked for sometime on the Bohman farm in Peterson. On the 25th of February, 1980, Walter died at a rest home in Ogden. The only living child, Walter Glen, lives in Arkansas.
