Show CEMENT HOME IN COTTONWOOD Albert was a hard working man who loved baseball and Church work. He served as President of the Sunday School for 18 years and was on the Stake High Council for many years. Active in civic affairs he served as a Councilman and County Commissioner at various times in his life. He was employed for years at the Clark Feed and Produce Company in Morgan. Eliza loved to grow and gend flowers and took great pride in her garden. She took many blue ribbons for her entries in the Morgan County Fair. She was an avid baseball fan and played on a girl's baseball team in her teenage years. Norene told of an inspiring experience her father had while in the mission field. He had been in the mission field only a couple of days when a Church con¬ference was held. He could neither speak or understand the language. He spoke to the Conference audience for more than 30 minutes, not knowing what he said. It was a great blessing, he fully believed. Albert F. Rich died, 2 April 1958, at the age of 80. Eliza Dickson lived un¬til 17 July 1972. She was 90 years old at the time of her death. Norene Rich Kendell NOTES FROM AN EMIGRANT'S DIARY This morning (on our way to Oregon) we passed through Ogden, Utah, a small mormon town of some 60 houses. No store was in the town but there were several groceries, a post office and a grist mill and a saw mill. 270 |
