Show tures being personally delivered or mailed from Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada and throughout Utah. Only once did an individual refuse to cooperate.... and more than 100 families had been found who had lived in Mountain Green at one time or another between 1857 and 1931. Only one of the four or five original families of 1857-1858 is still represented. Six descendents of John Robinson Jr. still live on the old Robinson ranch on Strawberry Creek. They even have a 'lane' named after them. Everything possible was done to verify historical facts and put them in their proper sequence. The personal diaries, biographies, stories and pictures speak for themselves. They are priceless! The book, 'Mountain Green, the Beautiful,' evolved out of a deep love and respect for those early pioneers, and for the little settlement with its joys and sorrows, its trials and tribulations. It was written by amateurs and not for any literary achievement or recognition, for it contains many honest and human mistakes. Please accept the book in the spirit in which it was written. May its pages be an inspiration to you as it has been to the compiler. To the contributors—THIS IS YOUR BOOK—YOU MADE IT POSSIBLE! Without your generous help and encouragement the book, "Mountain Green, the Beautiful," could never have been written. But above all else the hand of the Lord is recognized in this endeavor. With¬out His blessings and help it would have been impossible to locate the scattered families and complete the book. Time after time He came to my aid when supplicated through prayer for His divine assistance.
