Show According to Church Historical Records, Mountain Green was established as a Branch, 1 October 1860. James Henry Robison became the next President and held this position until 1870. (No picture is available of James Henry Robison) In 1870 John Robinson Jr. took over the responsibilities of Presiding Elder and continued in this capacity until 1877 when the Mountain Green Branch became a part of the Peterson IDS Ward. John Jr. continued to have local charge until Will¬iam Carrigan ceased to be Bishop. The following information was taken from the records of Andrew Jensen, early Church Historian: Elder James Henry Robinson presided at Mountain Green until the Spring of 1870, after which John Robinson Jr. acted as Presiding Elder until the organization of the Morgan Stake in 1877. (End of quote) In about 1875 a frame building was erected south of the old log chapel and across the Country Road. This building, 25 by 30 feet, served again as both Chapel and School. It cost approx¬imately $1,200 to build and the contractor was David B. Bybee. In 1880 the Mountain Green Sunday School was rated the best in the Morgan Stake. A Primary was organized in 1881, which functioned for several years, then ceased because of a lack of children. John Anson Waite reported in his diary that he was called to act as Presiding Elder of the combined Branches in 1888. One year later he was sustained as Bishop when the Mountain Green Branch became a Ward. Bishop Waite served in this calling for 10 years. In 1898 he sold his farm and purchased land in Syracuse, Davis County. The Waite family moved. When Bishop Waite moved from Mountain Green, he, having a large family, practically dissolved both the MIA and the Sunday School in the little community. Joseph B. Robbins was the last Superintendent and the last President of the MIA. He was called to preside as Bishop of the Peterson Ward in 1898 and moved his family from Mountain Green to the Peterson Railway Station in the Fall of 1900.
