'Lon and Lottie' Robinson Brick Home In Mountain Green 'Lon' and Lottie Robinson 1909 For many years Alonzo Rowell and Charlotte Sophia Simmons Robinson lived on the old Robinson farm in Mountain Green which Alonozo's parents had homesteaded before 1860. Alonzo was the youngest of 12 children born to John Jr. and Lucinda V. Roberts Robinson. His birthdate was 19 March, 1883. He grew up in Mountain green where he attended grade school He remembered when the old pot-bellied stove at the school house exployed, scattering soot everywhere. School was delayed until the mess was all cleaned up. 'Lon' was eight years old when father died and as a child he assisted his older brothers in working the farm which provided their living. As a youth he worked with brother, Orson, run the family sawmill in Wolverine Valley, Idaho. But sawmilling did not appeal to him and he returned home, married Charlotte Simmons and settled down to farming and car¬ing for his elderly mother, Lottie was born in September of 1884, a daughter of F. Charles and Sophia Johnson Simmons. 252
