and the children watched daily as the Union Pacific trains thundered down the track south of the farm. Ethel remembered that her father would rescue the abandoned baby lambs and Alice would nurse them back to health by feeding them with a nipple on a ketchup bottle. Many times the little animals would be brought to the kitchen and warm¬ed by the wood stove. LITTLE ROCK HOUSE IN THE HOLLOW The children remembered attending school in Peterson and Fingal Bohman's old country store, which was such a delight. One time the family had a live alligator which the kids kept in a tub of water. All the neighbor kids were on hand to gaze at the unfamiliar reptile. In 1920 the Caziers moved to Littleton, Morgan County, then to Porterville. From Porterville the next home was in Roy, Weber County, then to Slaterville. A farm was purchased in Huntsville where Jefferson died in 1914. Alice Ellen lived with her children until her death in 1953. Both parents are buried in Ogden. In reminiscing Lenore remembered that the children in the Peterson School saved peach pits during World War II. They were collected in a barrel and used by the army to make poison gas. She also remembered the students going to the Peterson Railroad Station and singing to the troops as they passed through. All five children graduated from Morgan High School. Frank had a success¬ful career in aviation until his death in a plane crash in 1966, Lenore and Ethel became school teachers. Jeff became a certified public accountantant. John was a successful farmer. All graduated from college. 294
