Page 2 December 28, 1998 1200 West and 17th Street have been extraordinarily patient with this road problem. The crossing has degraded to such a dangerous level that trailers are now able to catch on the rails. Currently, there is a danger of possible derailment of a train should a trailer catch and loosen a rail. It would be a critical lapse in judgement to let this problem persist. I also discussed with you the problem involving the Dinsdale subdivision near Pioneer Elementary School. This development, approved by Weber County, has been ongoing for several years and residents in this area have likewise been patient with the substandard road conditions. You indicated to me that the county has been waiting for the development to finish up and for the "equipment to move out." I believe this development is near completion and there is no further need to hold off resurfacing the road and bring it to code before the Marriott-Slaterville City takes effect. I indicated to you that this development was approved by Weber County and the resurfacing of the road should not be charged to the new Marriott-Slaterville City, with which you agreed. Out of frustration by the lack of enthusiasm on your part to see that these road problems are repaired I have no alternative at this point than to send a copy of this correspondence to those involved with our new city and the new county commissioners. The problems outlined above have been reported to Weber County numerous times and by numerous residents of Marriott-Slaterville. I would appreciate your attention in this matter.
