Show JUDI ELMER CANDIDATE FOR CITY COUNCIL, DISTRICT 1 MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE CITY 627-8226 email: arcozia@msn.com My goals for our new city: Achieve strong citizen involvement, with participation in city government and volunteerism Build a city and government that will be exemplary in our county and state Maintain the rural, small town atmosphere using sound planning concepts and ideas Organize a strong, dedicated Planning Commission to control organized growth, and to enforce land use regulations Review master zoning issues; especially concerning environmentally sensitive areas, such as the Weber River What I'd like to accomplish: Keep citizens informed of all city government issues and decisions Develop community-organized activities/events and sports programs for all ages to encourage interaction and friendship Enhance the quality of life by working towards a heritage center, encouraging library expansion, developing our parks, and fostering goodwill among citizens Work diligently to achieve the goals we set for ourselves as a city and neighbors My background: Lived and raised family in Marriott for 21 years. Worked for Iomega Corporation for 11 years. Managed a group of 22 technicians and engineers, responsible for serving on decision-making boards, organizing and developing department structure, and developing training materials. Currently certifying as an MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Networking) and working at the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology as a hardware / software instructor. Served in many volunteer church capacities and PTA board at West Weber Elementary Attended BYU and Weber State University. 190 |
