Show The Pioneer Post Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter February 2000 Volume II Issue 2 EARLY EDITION FOR UPCOMING PUBLIC HEARINGS ***NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS*** Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, February 9, 2000, the Marriott-Slaterville Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comments from the public on recommended textual amendments to Chapter 1 through 20 in Title 13 of the Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Commission, during the same meeting, will hold a second public hearing to receive comments from the public regarding an amendment to the general plan providing for a parks and trails element. The City Council will hold a public hearing on the recommendations of the Planning Commission for these two issues (zoning ordinance and parks/trails) on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at 6:00 p.m., and may approve with or without changes. Also, the City Council shall hold a third public hearing at their meeting regarding a storm drainage impact fee ordinance based on a study by the city engineer. Additional public hearings may be held by the city council on Thursday, March 2, 2000, if additional time is needed for the three public hearings noted above. All public hearings will be held at the City Hall, 1195 W 400 N, (west gate of DDO), during regularly scheduled meetings. Please plan to attend these public healings and give your comments, or call 627-1919 for more information. Planning Commission Meeting Update Thursday, February 9, 2000, 6:00 PM, agenda: 1. Work session until 7:00 PM regarding textual amendments to the zoning ordinance. 2. 7:00 PM regular meeting begins - call to order. 3. Public Hearing - recommendation to city council on proposed textual amendments to the zoning ordinance. 4. Public Hearing - recommendation to city council for an amendment to the General Plan providing for a parks and trails overlay. 5. Approval of prior minutes and discussion on meeting schedule. City Council Meeting Update Thursday, February 17, 2000, 6:00 PM, agenda: 1. General consent items/report from council staff. 2. Public Hearings - adoption of a storm drainage impact fee ordinance. 3. Public Hearing - recommendation from planning commission on proposed textual amendments to the zoning ordinance. 4. Public Hearing - recommendation from planning commission for an amendment to the General Plan providing for a parks and trails overlay. 5. Short reports from city council. Remember that the above agendas are tentative. For a final agenda contact the city office, 627-1919, or go to a location where agenda is posted at least 24 hours prior to meeting: City Hall, Mulligans, 12th Street Flying J, or Excel. Council meetings are commonly scheduled for the first and third Thursday at 6:00 PM each month. The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday each month at 7:00 PM. Public Notice Regarding Proposed Uniform Dress Policy at Rocky Mountain Junior High School Taken from letter received by Orvil Holley, City Council President, from RMRH Voting on the proposed uniform dress policy at RMJH will take place during parent-teacher conferences held in February. One vote per household will be counted, and only parents will be allowed to vote. Parents of students who will be in 8th and 9th grade at RMJH during the 2000-2001 school year may vote on February 22nd or February 24th during parent teacher conferences. If parents are unable to attend these conferences absentee ballots will be mailed to your home, and the absentee ballots must be post marked or hand delivered by the parent to RMJH no later than March 6, 2000. A copy of the proposed uniform dress policy has been mailed to each home of the students who will be affected. If you have not received this information please contact RMJH at 732-6029.
