All my life Profession or work: LPN, Davis Mental Health Position filled: Deputy Recorder/ Clerk Responsibilities: Keep minutes of City meetings, act for Recorder as assigned Prior involvement with planning, township and/or incorporation efforts: Involved citizen Special ties to the City: I am the sixth generation of both the early settler Perry and Smout families to live in this area. Your vision for the City's future: I would like it to remain a community where we can depend on each other, and keep our rural environment. Other: I expressed concern about the need for the council to keep records, beginning in the transition period. I was "sort of" volunteered for the clerk position by my brother, Rob Smout. I have loved the work and being involved in the development of city government and policies. I am sorry I had to resign the position effective July 1, 2000, when my work hours changed so that I was unable to attend the meetings. 257
