Show Marriott-Slaterville City 1195 West 400 North Marriott-Slaterville, Utah 84404 telephone 801-627-1919 fax 801-627-1880 Keith H. Butler, Mayor H. Orvil Holley, Council President Duncan Torr Murray, Administrator/Attorney William M. Morris, Recorder/Council Director MEMORANDUM To: Mayor Butler and Council members CC: All other City Officials From: Duncan Murray Date: March 8, 2000 Re: Update regarding misc. items. 1. I met with Dr. Burbidge on Friday, March 3rd. Steve, Dennis, and I will walk the proposed sites in the Stormwater Capital Facilities Plan at 1:00 on Wednesday, March 15th (we will leave from City Hall at that time). Other city officials are also invited if interested.. 2. It is anticipated that part of the April 6th City Council meeting could be used to discuss Stormwater issues regarding the Warren Irrigation Pond with Warren Irrigation, Weber County, and Plain City officials. 3. Chris Allred, Weber County Deputy Attorney, is working on a "junk ordinance." I will obtain a copy of it when it is completed to determine whether it is something we would like to consider Junk cars ( and other junk) is currently our primary zoning enforcement problem. 4. We have now set up a city account at Office Max. We already have an account at Sam's Club. Please coordinate office supply purchase with Keith, Shirley, or I so that we can take advantage of our sales tax exemption and to minimize expenses. 5. I am still working with Craig Fox at UDOT regarding the seven acre parcel located between 12th Street, the Willard Canal, the railroad, and the Interstate. We are attempting to acquire the real property at no expense to the city. 6. I have continued to talk to officials at the Postal Service regarding the possibility of a new zip code for our area. Negotiations are on going. 7. The Presidential Primary Elections will be held at City Hall this week. The election judges are prepared and Weber County delivered the election equipment. 8. A meeting was held last week at city hall with a dozen or more IRS and GSA officials present to discuss issues with Mayor Butler, Dennis, and I. The primary issues discussed were related to traffic which will affect 1200 west from the proposed new 3-story IRS building. They were very good to work with and will consider a historical name from the Marriott area for the building if we have a suggestion the IRS/GSA are also taking into account the concerns of the Ogden Nature Center, including storm water drainage and building the facility in a way that fits in best with the surrounding open space. 9. We obtained plot maps from Ogden Blue Print for the entire city and they are now in an easy to use binder. This resource, along with our Volo View computer program and disk from the County, will enable us to better handle zoning questions. 10. I have been in contact with Bruce Swensen at UDOT. He is in charge of the SR 126 (1900) project over the railroad, the Weber River, and 12th Street. He will do all possible (and it appears likely) to have an 8 foot high, 8 foot wide trail along the River (under 1900 West). I will keep you informed. 294 |
