Is someone intending to bring in something we do not know anything about? The vocal ones do not want any changes, rather they would like to see further restrictions. The ones with the property that would be available aren't saying anything. They, of course, would like to get the highest value for their property regardless of use. For now they can't see any advantage to antagonizing their neighbors. At least not until they can see some realistic, practical chance of developing their property or selling it to some one who will. We held that community meeting that you attended at the Marriott- Slaterville Ward House. The vocal ones have not changed their opinions from then. The ones with the property have told me privately what I have already said. They would prefer waiting to see what development will bring. You and Craig Barker held the one at Pioneer School and you must have realized the ones there were very vocally against any changes. We have held a meeting with Slaterville Planning Committee and didn't really resolve anything. They seem to prefer going their one course. We have held four meetings with our committee and have arrived at principally the same ideas that we sent you previously. I shall list the changes they would like made to your latest proposals on a separate set of papers. Please bear in mind, also tell Craig Barker, that these are not just my ideas but are a true consesus of our community. You may come back and find one or two that differ on various points, but over-all these will be the feelings of most of the people. Also bear in mind that NOONE in our communty wants any further industrial development, whether light or heavy. There is to be NO further expansion of industrial development beyond what is already done. In fact there are some areas we would like to have changed.
