Show PLANNING COMMISSION June 12, 1990 Page Six MOTION: Commissioner Widdison moved to recommend Final Approval to White Rail and Kanesville Meadows Subdivison subject to the staff comments as stated above with the exception of Item 1, whereas the Board recommends to the County Commission that some effort be made to get U.D.O.T. to waive their requirement of installing full improvements on 4000 S. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Coleman and motion passed by a 3-1 vote with Commissioners Coleman, Widdison and Thompson voting aye and Commissioner Fuller voting no. 5. Consideration to set date for Public Hearing for Comprehensive Plan Update - Marriott - Slaterville Districts Staff showed the members the proposed update to the Comprehensive Master Plan of the Slaterville/Marriott area. The Slaterville/Marriott Planning Committee and the staff are still not in total agreement, which is not unusual. This item is on the agenda to set a date for public hearing to adopt an updated masterplan. Commissioner Coleman indicated that the Planning Commission Board is the final decision body and it does not go to the County Commission for approval. MOTION: Commissioner Coleman moved to set the date for a public hearing of July 31, 1990 to adopt an updated masterplan for the Slaterville/Marriott area and to make sure the Planning Committees have copies of what is proposed. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Fuller and voting was unanimous, with Commissioners Coleman, Fuller, Widdison and Thompson voting aye. 6. Discussion - Lower Valley Transportation Implementation Plan Commissioner Coleman moved to set up a meeting with the County Engineer and the Planning Commission at 3:30 p.m. on June 26, 1990 to discuss the Lower Valley Transportation Implementation Plan. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Fuller and voting was unanimous, with Commissioners Coleman, Fuller, Widdison and Thompson voting aye. 7. Z.P. 5-90 by Chris and Carol Petersen to rezone property at 7345 E. 900 S., Huntsville from CR-1 to C-2 Staff indicated that the site being considered for rezoning was zoned CR-1 in November 1964 to provide commercial zoning for Mr. Petersen's existing commercial uses which provide services to people in the south Huntsville area. There are existing Commercial C-2 Zones one mile to the east and to the west. These commercial C-2 Zones came into being within the last five years. The staff does not have any objections to the the proposed rezoning of the Petersen property to a C-2 Zone. Staff has received phone calls from Mr. Levy, Mr. Fielding and Mrs. Nielsen who are in opposition to this proposal. Their feelings were that the Petersen's would go ahead and do what they want anyway without any regard to zoning. 422 |
