Bill and Jayna attended a week long Recorder training offered by WSU Continuing Education while Duncan manned the office and arranged the animal control service contract with Weber County. Bill left during the last half of the month to return to law school at the University of Wyoming, but he comes home every other week for several days to work. August 16th was the filing deadline for candidate for the November municipal election. The filings are as follows: At-large Seat "A": James Elmer, and Orvil Holley; East District: Dennis Ilium, and Ren Meyerhoffer; West District: Rob Smout. No primary election is necessary. The general municipal election shall be held on November 2, 1999. Department heads carried out their responsibilities including making minor road repairs, solving minor public works problems, and starting the process to get the two LDS Church parks turned over to the city. Most notably, Shauna Meyerhoffer, over community events, was in charge of our booth at the Weber County Fair. Shauna is incredible at putting together successful activities and displays. Our city's fair booth focused on the theme of unity in bringing two communities together with "Birds of a Feather Flock Together: Marriott-Slaterville." 3 331
