Show 9 Fourth President was Esther H. Butler with Edith Ritchie and Francis Pierce as counselors. Elizabeth Hodson and Sarah Slater were secretaries. Fifth President was Mary V. Butler and Francis Pierce and Lillie J. Tracy as counselors. Sarah Slater was secretary. Sixth President was Geneva Law with Mildred Slater and Sarah A. Slater as counselors. Nevada Slater was secretary. Seventh President was Mildred H. Slater with Sarah Slater and LaRee Elmer as counselors. Nevada Slater was secretary. LaRee Elmer was released and replaced by Leila Holmes. Sarah A. Slater was released and replaced by Charlotte Blair. Nevada Slater was released and replaced by Florence McFarland as secretary. Sabbath School May 29, 1377. First organized in the year 1867 with Thomas Wadsworth as superintendent with the following aids or teachers: Thomas Salisburg, Caleb Parry, Sr., William Gill, Ellen Salisburg, Sarah Joyce and Nancy Tracy. The school met with success for a year, after which Thomas Wadsworth moved from this district. In 1868 the Sabbath School was reorganized with Thomas Salisburg as superintendent. He conducted the school with ability and success. Jubilee. In response to a call from Richard B. Ballantyne, County Superintendent of Sabbath Schools, a subscription of $6 was made for the purpose of providing prizes to be competed for at a Sabbath School Jubilee at the Tabernacle in Ogden in September of 1872. On July 24, 1874, a County Banner. The Sabbath School of Weber County participated in a Jubilee held in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. They had a suitable banner for the occasion for which this school contributed $2. On January 1, 1874, a number of prizes of books were given to the Sunday School by the Relief Society of this district. These incidents are previous to the commencement with the school and are deemed worthy of being kept on record. 379 |
