Show MARRIOTT COMMUNITY GOALS AND POLICIES RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT Goal 1. Maintain as much as possible the rural atmosphere and residential lifestyle enjoyed by the citizens of the Marriott Community. Policies 1. In designated areas, either by zoning or other methods, keep the larger residential lot requirements. 2. Consider the desire to reduce residential street standards widths in this area. 3. The requirement for sidewalks in this area should also be eliminated except in multi lot subdivisions developed off of existing streets. Goal 2. The community realizes that some of the areas could be used for higher density housing which will provide citizens who do not desire larger lots a place to live in Marriott. Policies 1. Higher density housing should be well planned and areas for such projects not zoned until a development plan is submitted, reviewed by the community planning committee and a development agreement accepted by the developer and Weber County. 2. Higher density housing and parks should act as buffers, between major streets, commercial and light industrial areas and the single family low density residential areas. 3. Areas determined by the community which are acceptable for higher density housing should be either small lot single family dwellings or condominium developments which, in both instances, should be owner occupied. 4. Suggested locations for higher density housing are: 1) The area from 850 S. to 1200 S. from 1200 W. to the I-15 Canal. 2) The area between 850 S. to Millcreek and I-15 with larger lots in front close to the street and smaller lots in the rear to 1200 W. could be designated 10,000 sq. ft. lot density residential. -3- |
