MINUTES OF MEETING WITH SLATERVILLE PLANNING COMMITTEE AND CITIZENS The meeting was held at the Slaterville Bowery, Wednesday, September 13, 1989 at 6:00 p.m. All the members of the Slaterville Planning Committee were in attendance along with approximately 35 home owners in the community. At that time, Mr. Keith Butler explained to those present the various requirements for zones that are found within the Slaterville Community limits. A proposal was made by community member Kim Slater that the following recommended changes be made to the zones in the areas of the Slaterville Community. He stated to the Planning Committee that the following recommended changes be made to the zoning map: 1. That all property abutting the new sewer line be rezoned RE-20 and any other property that could be hooked to the sewer, if property owners were willing to do so, be zoned RE-20. 2. That areas other than those abutting the new sewer line, which are zoned A-1 and A-2, remain the same. 3. That upon approval of the Weber County Planning Commission Board and the Slaterville Planning Committee that property abutting the State Highway 2000 W. be zoned Commercial C-2. These changes were put to vote and unanimously approved. The community and the citizens felt that something needs to be done with 1200 West. The street is too narrow to carry the existing traffic. The suggestion is that 1200 W. be widened and another suggestion was made that another road be found to go to and from the fairgrounds. There was concern expressed about Defense Depot Ogden and how secure it is. They felt that none of the property in Slaterville on the west side of 1200 W. should be zoned commercial or manufacturing in the future. The members expressed appreciation to the Weber County Planners for their consideration they are giving to the Slaterville Community and to the other unincorporated areas and for helping the unincorporated area be a better place to live and raise their families. The members also expressed appreciation to Ed Reed for his interest, concern, help and suggestions on Slaterville's behalf. OH/ss 9/18/89 -11-
