Show 5. and married the piano player. And this brings us to Orville Dykstra. His father was the Railway Express Agent and Telegrapher at Pella and his only complaint about Orville was that he was so slow at getting the message. Dyk was also duly enrolled at Central College and a member of the Chrestomathian Literary Society, whose motto was "Do Something Useful" and which met every Friday for what its literature describes as, and I quote, "An evening of entertainment and personal gain, "which makes it easy to understand why the organization appealed to Dyk. Its symbol was the anchor, which makes it easier to understand why Dyk appealed to the Chrestomathians. |
