Show 16. aside out of 1973 earnings a substantial reserve against future costs and contingencies. Uranium is another area in which 1973 earnings were below those of the preceding year. The output of uranium from Lucky Mc and Shirley Basin is committed through 1975 at prices higher than those that have prevailed in the last several years. To meet our delivery schedule it is necessary for the two uranium mills to operate at rated capacity of 4. 2 million pounds each year but the shipments are not in level quantities. In 1972 we shipped 4. 6 million pounds but in 1973 shipments have dropped to approximately 2.2 million pounds. The reduced rate of deliveries in 1973 results from requests from our public utility customers to postpone shipments |
