Show 22. for Employees' Retirement Costs and Minority Interest. These overhead expenses have been under good control. (Slide 11 - on). Except for interest costs, overhead expenses represent less of a burden now than in earlier years. This chart shows these expenses excluding interest as a percentage of gross profit and other income, and the trend is favorable. Interest expense obviously is a function of both the amount of borrowing and the accounting treatment of interest paid. (Slide 12 - on). Utah's practice is to capitalize financing costs on identifiable new borrowings made to finance the development of new mining projects.
