Show 12. Dividends have been increased each year and tended to track fairly well the increase in earnings per share until 1972 when the size of the increase we were permitted to make was held by the restrictions from the Committee on Interest and Dividends. The 45 1/2 a share paid in dividends in 1973 are almost three times the amount paid in 1964. Even more dramatic than the upward trends in earnings per share and in dividends has been the change in price of our stock in the marketplace. For the fiscal years indicated the chart shows the closing quotation at the end of each fiscal year interconnected by lines. The bars indicate the high and low trading range for the year.
