IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO AMUSE THE READERS. IT MUST INFORM, EDUCATE, AND TEACH. I SUSPECT THAT ANECDOTES ABOUT MY FEISTY GRANDPA AND HIS CONTINUING INFLUENCE ON THE UTAH PRESS ASSOCIATION WOULD BE ENOUGH TO ASSURE MY GETTING IN AND GETTING OUT SAFELY FROM THIS UNUSUAL AFFAIR. A BUSINESSMAN - EVEN ONE WHO IS A FRUSTRATED ENGLISH MAJOR - HAD BETTER TREAD CAREFULLY WHEN HE SPEAKS TO JOURNALISTS, AND PARTICULARLY WHEN HE TRIES TO COMMENT SERIOUSLY ON THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD JOURNALISM TO THE STATE OF THE NATION. BUT GENTILES RUSH IN WHERE MORMONS FEAR TO TREAD, AND I DO FEEL MOVED TO SPEAK ABOUT THE FRAGILE NATURE OF DEMOCRACY AND THE IMPORTANCE OF AN INFORMED ELECTORATE.
