MINING IS BY FAR OUR MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITY, AND DIRECTLY OR THROUGH SUBSIDIARY OR AFFILIATED COMPANIES WE ARE CONCERNED WITH THE MINING OF COKING COAL IN AUSTRALIA; IRON ORE IN UTAH, PERU, NEW ZEALAND, AND AUSTRALIA; COPPER IN BRITISH COLUMBIA AND ARIZONA; URANIUM IN WYOMING; AND STEAM COAL IN NEW MEXICO. THE COMPANY ALSO HAS IMPORTANT INTERESTS IN OCEAN SHIPPING, LAND DEVELOPMENT, AND MORE RECENTLY BY ACQUISITION WE HAVE ENTERED INTO THE EXPLORATION FOR AND PRODUCTION OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS.
